Ocean City

Jan 12

I look off the pier into the horizon. The gleaming moon’s reflection against the water. The voices of laughter and joy fill my ears. Smells of funnel cake and overbuttered popcorn lift my spirits even more. The sea breeze running through me feels so envigorating. This may be one of the happiest places on Earth. Theres something for everyone at the boardwalk. Even if you stayed the whole day, you wouldn’t want to leave, no matter what age. This is what I love about Ocean City.

My favorite photo

Jan 12

A great week came and was almost through. And yet, there we were again in the same old spot, the ice cream parlour on Ocean Blvd. There was a bar where you sat and at ice cream. It faced the ocean, so you could look out onto the beach. At night it was a lot more crowded, not like a crazy crowded, but a comfortable crowded. We liked it there. It isn’t just some old, run down ice cream shop, but sanctuary of all of my everlasting memories.

It was our last night there in Holden Beach. My best friend and I sat there watching the sunset for one last time. I was eating rainbow sherbet and she was eating a spiderman popsicle. We were pretty quiet. “Hey your ice cream is melting, you better hurry up.” said Jaycee. “I’m really gonna miss this place,” I replied. She sighed, “same.” We both turned back to the sunset. At that moment I realized something, “I wonder if this is the last time we ever do this.” “What do you mean?” she asked. “High school isn’t the same as middle school, we might not be as close, I mean people change.” I said. Jaycee turned to me and said, “Lets take a picture.” I looked at her puzzled. “You know, that way we remember this place.” So we stood up and took a picture. “Now even if we do split up, we won’t forget,” she said her eyes smiling at me. And to this day, we both still have that photo.

My latest obsession…

Jan 11

I go through phases where I’m just focused on this one thing. Right now it’s orginization…I watched a video on youtube with this girl showing off her room and how everything had a place. I suddenly decided I was going to change everything…

1) I organized my bathroom: I have three baskets that have hair bands and hair ties, facial cleansers and contact items, and anything that has heat (flat irons, hair dryers, etc…).

2) I organized my dresser, just into catagories, like shorts, sweatpants, etc…

3) CLOSET: This was my challenge, I put all my camisoles in a basket, instead of on the floor. I organized my clothes based on color. I put my shoes in a shoe holder thing that hangs on my door.

4) make up! : Okay, most people think this goes in the bathroom catagorie, but i recently found out that keeping your makeup in the bathroom makes it covered in bacteria. It’s from the steam of your shower. So I made my desk a vanity, I have six drawers, one for skin (foundation, blush), eyeliners, mascaras, eyeshadows, lip glosses, and make up bags (for travel).

I feel so accomplished! Thanks for reading!

candlelight cermony

Dec 27

It’s always been a tradition, go to church on christmas eve. My brother and I really didn’t want to go. I’m a christian and everything, but the sermons are just boring. We just started going to this new chruch, the community church, you know, that HUGE building on route seven. It was our first time going to that church for christmas eve. When we first walked in, everyone was so happy and very delighted to be present. We stood up most of the time singing. Our pastor, had a talk with us, the traditional story of the birth of Jesus. Then, we did the coolest thing. We all lit candles and turned off all the lights, and just sang. We’ve never held candles and sang. It was great. From now on I won’t say I don’t like it, if I’ve never tried it.

Somethings I’ve always wanted to do…

Dec 17

1. I’ve always wanted to grow my own garden: I’ve always wanted to plant my own vegetables and fruits at my own home. It would be an awesome way to save money, and also it could be very convenient. If you wanted to make spaghetti, but didn’t have any sauce, you could just go outside in your garden and get some.

2. Skydive. I know it sounds crazy, but wouldn’t it feel so cool falling through the air? I love the wind in my hair and just feeling the rush, and I’m really up for new and exciting things.

3. Go on a misson. Not like Kim Possible! I mean like a church mission. You go to countries in need and give them hope. I think it would be a great cause, and I love helping people.

4.  Set foot on every continent. I know Antartica may be tough, but wouldn’t be great to say, “Hey I’ve been to all seven!”

5. Go to Greece. I think it would be great to look at all the history, and would be a wonderful experience!

6. Learn how to surf. I’ve always wanted to try surfing. I don’t think I’d get much practice though, considering I live in Virginia!

7. Go to Oktoberfest. I think it would be really fun! I mean who doesn’t like German food?

There is so much more trust me, but I didn’t want to bore you. :)

Armored

Dec 11

A movie review,

Armored is about men who transport money from bank to bank. One day, they decide they are going to take the forty two million and say that they’ve been robbed. Ty, a newbie on the job, was in on it at first, but then after a promise was broken, decides he is completely out. Ty struggles for his life and trys to escape. This thriller will not be what you expected! This movie stars Matt Dillon (Old Dogs, Herbie Fully loaded, The Outsiders, etc…) and Columbus Short (Stomp the yard, Grand Theft Auto, Accepted, etc…).

One thing I really loved about this movie was the suprises that lurked around every corner. You weren’t ever bored. I remember gasping a couple times! I also liked the length of the movie, most people would say it’s way to short, but who don’t you ever get bored sometimes with a movie, after two hours I don’t care how good it is, JUST END IT.

There were also a couple things I didn’t like, was I don’t think they really focused on the actual heist. They were mainly focused about getting Ty out of the truck, and not getting caught. Another thing I didn’t like was the ending. It left me really hanging, I felt they could’ve wrapped it up better.

Thanks for reading!–I give it 3 1/2 stars!

Save the whales!

Dec 04

You know, whales are some of the most beautiful creatures on our planet. They are intelligent as well, they can communicate with each other through hauntingly beautiful singing. As you might have seen Dory do in “Finding Nemo.” Unfortunatly, these creatures population is falling at a high rate. There are a ton of things you can do to save these beautiful creatures, and these tips don’t just help whales, they help all sorts of marine life!

1) You can clean up your local rivers and volunteer for the community.

2) You can recycle, but cut up those things that the six pack of sodas comes in, even when recycled it may be a hazard.

3) If you see a piece of garbage on the ground…don’t be lazy, pick it up!

4) NEVER release balloons into the air. They may be mistaken for jellyfish.

5) Make sure your car is well mantained so that your pipes don’t leak or anything.

6) Buy products that are environmently friendly.

7) If you go fishing, never discard fishing hooks or lines into the water! Animals could get tangled up in it.

Please, help save our marine life, they need us.

Snow Day!

Dec 04

Aren’t they the best? Especially when it’s a suprise! You wake up to your mom saying, “No school today sweetie.” Just sleeping in, ahh, the best part! You can go sledding with friends. Then, go inside and take a hot shower that feels so good on your cold skin! Then, getting into warm clothes with a nice, warm, steaming cup of hot chocolate. The warm drink slithers down your dry throat. Then hoping that tommorow is exactly like today!

Christmas

Dec 03

Family, friends, and good smells fill the air

Icicle lights border the roof

Carolers sing our favorite tunes!

The evergreen tree covered in ornaments and lights of all colors

Ripping open bright packages of all sizes

Yells of joy from what they recieved

Smells of stuffing, ham and turkey

and can’t forget apple pie!

Sweet taste of it just makes you want more!

The content children sitting around playing with new toys!

Family gathers from near and far

Christmas cards galore!

Saying goodbye is the hardest part

Falling asleep to a good christmas…

the best!

another poem

Nov 24

I effect everyone I touch,

like the sun’s rays lighting the Earth.

See me light my way through darkness

to everything that I come across.
